Leonardo was the first to describe the use of a camera obscura, although he did not invent it. The principle was known in 300 BC, and was documented in the tenth century.

If you mean the photographic camera, many people invented various components of the camera as we know it, principally Daguerre and Fox Talbot and, later, Eastman.
