In the upper midwest we see water bumps all the time. When water collects under a field it sometimes pushes up the grass and creates a boil-like bump. Sometimes there are whole fields of these 'water bumps.'
The Mills Brothers song is the only reference to them that I have ever run across. But here in Wisconsin we see them frequently.
