What is the difference between dog fleas and cat fleas?
Question

They are basically different species of flea that have evolved a preference for certain animals, but aren't exactly that fussy. The poultry flea is the least discriminating and will bother anyone. Otherwise they're almost the same.

Thanks, satguru. My brother keeps saying my cat gave his dog fleas. He doesn't believe in anything but "fleas" host animal notwithstanding.

I agree, Legolaschic, but his dog could have given my cat fleas before he noticed she had fleas.

Well, I guess short of minutely examining the fleas, and checking for what kind of blood they've ingested, there's no way to be sure. I'm not any kind of bug expert.
