Yay Triviasoprano! In regard to the egg "hen baking a cake and you need an extra egg, as long as you are using self raising flour or a raising agent, then 15ml (1/2 fl oz) of vinegar is a fine substitute and will not effect the finished result of your cake" (I presume they meant "affect").
I believe that it can also be a seasoning for chips, an ingredient of dressings or a treatment for bee or jellyfish stings!

Whoa there - it's Bicarbonate for Bee, and Vinegar for Vasp. Bee stings are acidic and need the bicarbonate to neutralise them whereas wasp stings are alkaline and need an acid. Vinegar is a convenient acid, although I can't see why lemon juice wouldn't work....
