Today ADHD is considered to be a problem all over the industrialized world, although in no other country are children diagnosed with this "disorder" as often as in the United States. The variation in the rates of diagnosis and in estimates of the rate of prevalence raises numerous issues. In fact, almost everything about ADHD has been the subject of intense debate, as discussed later in this article.
