As of 2004, roughly how many airports are in the United States, and in the world?

    Question #51677. Asked by joezhou300.

    Stew54

The most up to date figure I can find for the US is 2003 (the CIA factbook) - no fewer than 14,807 of which the total with a paved runway was 5,128 (plus 155 heliports).

I think it might be difficult to get any kind of accurate figure for the whole world.
