On the night of November 9, 1938 the Nazis viciously attacked Jews living in Germany by burning to the ground 1,000 synagogues, trashing and looting 7,000 Jewish businesses, and murdering 91 Jews. This was known as Kristallnacht—Night of Broken Glass.
