    When was the word "gay" first used in print to mean "homosexual"?

    		The use of gay for homosexual first appeared in print 1933 in Noel Ersine's "Dictionary of Underworld Slang" as 'gay cat' to mean homosexual boy.

    The site where I got that from is best not be given here.....but to make up for it here is a nicer, respectable one which says other ideas as to the first printed usages of the word in 1933 as well.
