    Why are new CDs and singles always released on Tuesdays?

    		I don't think it is true of CDs in general but it is true of albums in the US.
    This is because album sales figures in the Billboard chart are based on weekly sales and so are released on a Monday.
    To maximum sales potential, it is best to release an album as soon as possible after this so they go on sale on Tuesday.

    		I think they came out on Mondays in the UK, probably for the same reason though as the charts are out at the weekend, CDs on Saturday and singles on Sunday.
