I was watching the CMA awards Tuesday and noticed the earpieces that the artists were wearing. Does anyone know what it is that they're listening to?

They may not be listening to anything at all. See, when you sing, you can't hear yourself when there's music or fellow singers (such as the case with a choir) as accompanyment So, if you block one ear, you can hear your own voice, and know if you're on key or not. Now, this would work by using your hand, but since many play instruments, they don't have the free hand, thus the ear device. Nov 11 04, 11:28 PM

Sometimes, it also serves the purpose of being 'fed' the tune (or harmonic key) to which they are singing, so that they stay on pitch. As for not hearing yourself sing, this classical singer says pish-posh. If your voice is that small that you cannot hear yourself over other instruments/and or singers, take voice lessons! Does anyone know what the Brit awards were previously called before they were called the Brit awards? Does anyone know who won the most recent National Book Awards in the USA----I can't seem to find a current listing? Does anyone know in which order the Academy Awards (Oscars) will be handed out? In American History they claimed that there were only 46 states and the other four were commonwealths. I think they said Pennsylvania was one of them. If this were so, then like D.C., they wouldn't be able to vote. Does anyone know the right answer to this?
