Which road was laid with the help of the romantic novels of Mills and Boon and why were their works chosen?

Question #52411. Asked by gmackematix. (Nov 14 04 9:02 PM)

That would be the M6 Toll Road. They were chosen because millions were returned unsold each year.

Who would want to read that drival anyway? I'd get more romantic stimulation from reading the back of Vegemite jar...

Yay (and a quick one too) for the road, Peasy, but there is another reason why their books in particular were used.

Do you mean because their pages are so absorbant and "unslushy" which enables a better pulp?

Yup, that'll be the one. Absorbent not to be confused with absorbing. The contents themselves are very slushy and certainly don't need converting to pulp.
Did you know, though, that Mills and Boon also publish chemistry books.
