I know but why are they called that and why are they at the bottom of the table and what are their characteristics?

They are at the bottom of the table because of the time of their discovery and the differences in their properties. Also, they don't fit into the classical table design. Incidentally, they have found 9 new elements.

    Darmstadtium
    Roentgenium
    Ununtrium
    Ununbium
    Ununquadium
    Ununpentium
    Ununhexium
    Ununseptium
    Ununoctium

These will either be placed in the actinides section, or at the bottom of the transition metals. They were found when reacting Iron with a gas (argon or radon, I think) in a chamber under unusual conditions.

The elements preceding the groups are lanthanum and actinium. The groups have unusual properties based on their electon distribution.
