    		A dalahäst or a dala horse (English name) is a traditional wooden statuette carved in the Swedish province of Dalarna.

    		According to some, it is Sweden's national symbol. I bought one in Sweden in 1978 and it is still in my china cabinet. See: http://www.northerner.com/swedish_crafts.html
