    What are the world's shortest and longest railway platforms?

    the shortest railway is the Angels Flight Railway, Los Angeles, CA
    as its atation is only an archway im guessing its also the smallest station as well.

    Top ten Book of everything 1997:
    UK Top: Bournemouth 720m (2362 ft)
    Gloucester 624m (2047 ft)
    From scouting the web it appears that Gloucester now claims the record as the longest.
    Not sure about the Waterloo international ones.

    Longest is
    State Street Center Subway, Chicago. 1067m (3500 ft)

    Sonepur is 4th behind Kharagapur & Perth.

    No info on shortest but there are "Halts" about (where trains now very very very rarely stop) on the UK network of about 20m length.

    Parts of the Canadian & US network are "request stops" - i.e. you flag the train down and they'll stop - so have no platform.
