    "Blue moon" is a term for the rare occasion when there are two full moons in one month. How often is there really a blue moon? Even rarer, how often are there two blue moons in a single year and when will this next occur?

    		From what I can tell there are occasions when the moon actually appears blue, but isn't anymore than it's made of cheese. 2 blue moons in a year happens about once every 19 years, the last in 1999.this site answers any other questions
