It's turkey, referred to as an exotic (Peruvian) bird in Portuguese, an "African" bird in Arabic, and in Hebrew it is referred to as "tarnegol Hodu" - lit. "the chicken of India".
Australia might be "Yemenite" in Hebrew. ("Teman" literally means "right" or "south".)

Yay Arpy, but as Israel is the world's biggest consumer of turkey per head I might have ezpected you to know that! I read that the Greek word "gallapoula" means "French girl", but the word does look suspiciously like Gallipoli, which is in Turkey!

I didn't realize Israel was the biggest per head consumer of turkey. I would have thought that Thanksgiving weekend would put the US at the top of that list. Though we do eat a lot of meat here... (A joke: What is the difference between an Israeli and an Israelite? About %30 of the calories.)
