A quick scan of Google sites says it's declined over the past decade, but as usual, that's not necessarily an accurate picture. It's not because stats such as that always reflect the input of those cities with the highest concentrations. L.A. (pop. 10 million) might show a 20% decline, but Dorris (pop. 900) might have a single robbery last year, and increases it's rate to 12%. Manna for the bean counters. Try this site for individual crimes, rates and locations within California. http://ca.rand.org/stats/community/crimerate.html
