The title was missing from the cover of the first editions of which book by Dr. Jose P. Rizal? Why was the title missing and, if the title had been on the book's cover, why would it not have been conducive to reading the book?

The title was 'Noli Me Tangere' which means 'do not Touch Me', and presumably no-one would have picked it up to read it. It was banned upon publication, by the friars who controlled the Philippines, as the book exposed the greed and corruption of the friars.
