Well, the pandora or pandura was a kind of lute, so I'll guess that the answer is a lute.

Apparently, "pandurate" is a term used in botany of certain leaves and means "fiddle-shaped". Did you get a dictionary for Christmas, Shady?

Good detective work, gmack! The Reader's Digest Reverse Dictionary - but with your Holmesian deductive powers I'm sure you were already aware of that! The violin has a pandurate shape, so I guess "fiddle" and "lute" are in harmony with that.
