    A freshwater fish was succeeded by a Celtic building and about 100 years later came a French dialect. Explain.

    AHA! Could the Celtic building be a Kirk? And the French dialect Picard? And I do believe there was a Captain Pike along the way...

    Yay Maggie! Your answer shows enterprise.
    In "Star Trek", Captain Pike was succeeded after the pilot episode by Captain Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard was captain about a century later. Picard is a dialect of Picardie.
