Being a huge fan of Elton John, I was surprised when someone asked me if I had heard there was an extra verse to his song "Daniel" that was cut due to playing time. Any truth to this? If so, does anyone know the words to this cut verse?

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for all of your comments!

Regarding Lunch Around the World, yes, we do plan on having another event next year (and expect to do this on an annual basis for as long as we're able). Check http://www.eltonjohn.com for more information early next year.

As for the missing lyrics to "Daniel," unfortunately, no one has them or remembers what they were. Elton apparently never demoed them, either (or they might surface on a recording somewhere).

I heard a song last night that used many girls names in it. But there was no verse. Just humming. It went something like this: Megan was a beauty she had a nice car, Jodie works at a diner and serves all day, Nancy is a nurse and helps the sick, and the verse is just humming. Any help?

What is the origin of the phrase "No answer came the stern reply"? Someone suggested to me that it relates to a nineteenth century painting representing an incident in the English Civil War where a young boy is being asked by an inquisitor, "When did you last see your father?" also the title of the painting, but I can find no corroboration of this. Any help?
