    Jean-Baptiste. The father was Toussaint Charbonneau.

    This month's Smithsonian Magazine has an interesting short article about Jean Baptiste Charbonneau. Every month they print excerpts of the Lewis and Clark journals, and then do follow up. He ended up moving about quite a bit, as was common on the frontier, and died, if I remember correctly, at age 61.
