In 'The Simpsons' episode in which Marge takes up bodybuilding, what is the name of the sombre classical piece that plays after Marge smashes up Moe's bar?

    Question #54576. Asked by Linus_337. (Jan 29 05 5:58 PM)

I can tell you that the use of the music at that point is a reference to the Oliver Stone film "Platoon".

My Simpsons viewing is restricted to British terrestrial TV so I haven't seen that episode but cross-referencing with Platoon's soundtrack tells me it was that old Kennedy funeral piece "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber.

Absolutely brilliant!! I have downloaded the Midi file and it is "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber.

I cannot believe anyone tracked that down! Thanks.
