Titchy (also tichy) comes from Little Tich, the stage name of Harry Relph. The Tich bit comes from the Titchbourne Claimant case, where Arthur Orton claimed to be Roger Titchbourne (and the heir to a baronetcy). Orton, after his prison sentence, went on the stage telling his story. He was a very big man (25 stone - 14 lb = 1 stone), and Relph was only four foot tall and chose to call himself Little Tich as a contrast to the big Titchbourne Claimant.
