One day on breakfast TV, I vaguely recall seeing an unpleasant demonstration by Johnny Vaughan of a device that could remove all the snot from a bunged-up person's head in one go. How might it have worked and is it still for sale?

I always find my right index finger works perfectly well. Why don't you try the same thing, Gmack? Don't waste your money on some machine!

Yes, it's a thin tube that you would connect to your vacuum, the tube is clear because when you see blood you know its time to stop.

Good luck in patenting that one, Buck. The one I saw looked like a small Aladdin's lamp affair that had some sort of fluid in it.

Sounds like a Neti pot, used by Yogis to clean out their nasal passages.

Here is a good article on Neti pots:

I would appreciate it if somone could help me out on this one. I vaguely recall reading an article which describes how a ship used a concentrated volume of sound to ward off some pirates which were attempting to illegally board the ship, and in so doing so successfully fended the pirates off by causing them to become disorientated. What was this new technique called and how was it so effective?

I vaguely recall seeing self-heating cans that automatically heated up their ingredients when you opened them. When were they invented, how did they work and why didn't they take off?

I remember seeing on TV a long time ago about something where a woman matched people with certain colors, supposedly to bring about the best in you, like an orange shirt might help one person, but a green shirt might harm someone, and she stated it was very scientific, does anyone know the name of this procedure or where to find more information?

I vaguely remember a character covered from head to toe in padding, whose job was as a human punchbag for someone else to kick and take out their frustrations of the day. I think this character had a one syllable name beginning with 'S.' Does anyone know what I am talking about?
