Formerly known as Old Beverly Street, the land of Green Ginger is in Hull. I think the Land of Nod is around there somewhere, too.

The land of Nod was a real place in the Bible (so clearly in the middle East) and because of the name, became to be used for bedtime.
From what I remember hearing 'The land of green ginger' was simply named after the factory there that of course had ginger as its main product, which was cured with lemon juice to make the colour. I can't find a reference to it anywhere, but do have a site with a photo of the road (and believe me, it's nothing like the name implies.)

I have also found that Whitefriargate, which is quite impressive, is also in that general area as well as the road which officially changed its name to it.
