Don't wager any money on that, 101frizzle.
I can find no reference to his ever having played with the Chiefs, or any AFL team. Any references, Donna?
"Gale Sayers was born in Wichita, Kansas in the year 1943. After a brilliant high school career as a running back, Sayers was approached by colleges all over the nation. He attended the University of Kansas, where he was a consensus All-American in 1963 and 1964. He was the first-round draft choice of the Chicago Bears in 1965. In his first year Sayers won Rookie-of-the Year honors after he led the NFL in scoring with 132 points and in touchdowns with 22. He also tied an NFL record by scoring six touchdowns in a game against the San Francisco 49'ers in 1965."
