Success depends on butterfat content. Clotted,double and whipping cream will all freeze successfully. Clotted cream can be frozen for up to one year.Double and whipping cream can be frozen for three months. All types can be frozen in original container but ensure that there is room for expansion. However tests, by Milk Marketing Board,showed that best method is to chill thoroughly and then semi-whip before freezing.Adding one teaspoon sugar to every 5 fluid ounces of cream acts as a stabilizer and helps any tendency for the cream to separate.Thaw cream overnight in fridge.
