I can't tell you what the difference is between the degrees awarded, though I should be able to, but I can tell you that, at least at the university I attended, honors students DO take different classes. For the brief period I was at school, I was offered the honors course and DID take honors English. I didn't finish school, though. My little sister, however, took honors classes all through school and graduated with a BA with honors in Anthropology. While the degree courses weren't different on all counts, a certain number of credits in honors classes had to be taken to graduate with honors.

I think that at each school "honors" mean different things...some are based on grades, some are based on special courses, and some are based on kissing the Dean's butt.
