I have a new laptop, with windows XP, and I've tried using alt 156 to get the pound sign, but that does'nt seem to work. Is there anything else I can do?

I think all the computers here are from America, but I know people that do have that function.

Use the number pad, Buck. It doesn't work if you use the numbers in the row under the function keys.

for those of you who "don't have a number pad", look at the top row where it says "num Lk". press it and then you can use the U, I, O, P, J, K, L, M... each one has a number on the side. U is 4, I is 5, etc...
