It's Spanish for cross as in "a cross to bear". The other bad news is that it's a girl's name in Spain.

I would say he was Crus-ing for a bruising at school with that name, but by the time he gets there there will be lots of children called Apple, Ipod or Gandalf Jr.

What's wrong with traditional names like David and Victoria?

Citizens of St Augustine, Florida are justly proud of their city being the oldest in the New World. It was originally a Spanish City called San Agustin. How come that it has not kept its Spanish name, like the cities in California such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, etc, have?

I remember riding the carousel in Santa Cruz, CA and tossing the brass ring in the clown's mouth. The song, "On A Carousel" by the Hollies, mentions "Pulling ducks out of the water, she got the highest score." Is this an English version of going for the brass ring? Or, is there another meaning?
