Little plum = Prunella = hedge-sparrow.
Little brother = Fratercula = puffin.

Confusingly, Prunella is also the genus of a plant called self-heal. Which could indicate a very odd biologist with confused ideas about relationships, or simply that botanists don't talk to ornithologists......

Yays to Peasy, Centerice (night-hawks are also called nightjars or whippoorwills) and TT there. The mind boggles as to why these bits of Latin were ascribed to these birds. I mean, hedge-sparrow and little plum?!
