There are films of them apparently forming spontaneously, with both the presence of balls of flying light, followed by black helicopters after the circles were formed. I have spoken to at least two people involved, including the wife of a person working on the film, and both believe it's purely man made, but from airborne sources testing beam weapons, creating a pattern on a screen and then transmitting it into the crops. Now if they thought they'd get caught, they clearly would have stopped, as at present it's pretty low on the known theories and pretty hard to catch in the act. Also, non-hoaxed circles show boiling sap and radiation not present in copies. Finally certain patterns can only be seen clearly from the air, and making these on the ground would be almost impossible to keep the angles accurate for the aerial view. I'm always dubious about things involving men in black, and black helicopters come into the same category. It's not easy to hide a black helicopter - or any other colour either - and people do tend to look at low flying helicopters, if only to see what the police or air ambulance are up to......
