    		Is this a question from 105.9 FM? From the searches I'm coming up with seem like a lot of people are asking this one.

    Here's the answer that's rolling around on the web:

    Pumpkins, agave (tequila) and chili peppers (hot sauce) were all among the earliest crops cultivated by native Americans.

    		They have in common one Mexican composer I knew, one of my roommates in college, who was particularly fond of mixing his tequila with any and all foods, especially on Halloween (along with the pumpkin). A fine man and an outstanding musician he is, but I was always impressed with the way he never really looked intoxicated.
