Most reviews that I've read don't go past 6 stars, and 5 seems more like the norm. Unless you're talking about that annoying habit that oriental restaurants have of awarding stars for degrees of spiciness. I've seen that system go as high as 12. As if...

Indeed Googling yields a "12-star restaurant" (Daniel Boulud's restaurant Daniel) of which it is said that it is so mobbed that people cannot get reservations. A "13-star restaurant" I could not find. Just wondering who decides on this numbering. The French Red Michelin Guide does not go beyond...3!
