Many scholars actually identify Raamses II as the Pharaoh of the late Exodus stories. Truth is we may never know. There's a big dispute about when the Ezodus actually took place, and the Pharaoh is never identified by name (the Bible gives the name Raamses as the name of a city, not a person).
