    		The McCain Oven Chip 25th anniversary one last year took up an entire section of advertising space at 7.45 in the middle of Coronation Street. That must have been about 5 minutes.

    		The question does say longest rather than longest running so I don't see any ambiguity. I seem to vaguely recall British Rail having an advert in the 1970s that lasted for several minutes.
    It could be argued that cartoons like "He-Man", "Transformers" and "Pokemon" have been little more than thinly disguised protracted adverts for toys.
