Is wrestling real? Well, let me ask you this: Is Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Great Pumpkin real? Of course they are, and so is wrestling. So we say to those 'experts,' get real, guys.

It depends on what you're talking about. As far as storylines, match endings, match outcomes, no they are all fake.
But actual wrestling is real. The wrestlers are trained not to hurt their opponent but sometimes they may land a punch wrong or if the opponent is inexperienced they do get hit for real.
Also when wrestlers do high flying moves that is all real. As my good friend once said, you can't cheat gravity.

The official name of the sport, the granddaddy of them all, is World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT. I think that sums it up quite well.
"WWE's business focus is on professional wrestling, the simulated sport combining original wrestling with scripted drama and pre-determined outcomes. It is currently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world, and holds an extensive library of videos representing a significant portion of the visual history of professional wrestling. The name only became Entertainment when they had to stop using Federation, following a lawsuit from the real WWF - the World Wildlife Fund, later the World Wide Fund for Nature. Back in the days of Vic Royal and Mick McManus & Steve Logan, wrestling was real. And most of the pro wrestlers were part-time - Steve Logan, who looked like the archetypal evil henchman, was as I recall a softly spoken furniture salesman through the week.
