    Did you imagine that he was trying to outrun his horse on foot? Or run with the horse against another whilst holding its bridle?
    I guess what I saying, Mochyn, is...no, Gordon Richards was on his horse throughout the race.

    At a rough guess (knowing nothing about horse racing), was he the only entrant or survivor, and merely needed to finish upright to win something or other? (Have seen this in motorcycle grasstrack racing.)
