Although it is served in many restaurants around the world, it might be positioned on the menu under two different categories, depending on which country you are in. What is this dish, and what are the two categories?

By menu "categories", do you mean starter, main and dessert?
You have mentioned elsewhere that this is connected to your question about Andalusia. As Andalusia contains Seville, does this mean that oranges are involved? Crepes Suzettes perhaps?

By that I do mean exactly what you say, sort of. Check your Andalusian cookbook and it's right under your nose.

The staff at Sizzler may have a headache trying to decide where to put this dish....soup or salad bar?
|

Nope, doesn't appear to be. But when you have dishes titled "Another Dish" and "Yet Another" and "Untitled" and "Another Version of the Same Thing" who would know?
However, just by Googling the word 'Andalusian' it comes up bang on the first page and slaps you in the face.
Surely the Sizzler pun?

Yorkshire Puddings can be served as a starter or accompanying the main course in certain areas.

Do I have to put the words 'soup' and 'salad' in capitals, do you think?

Looks like I do.
SOUP or SALAD?
Some like it hot......others well, are a little frigid.

Alrighty then.....
Cold SOUP anyone?

As vichyssoise isn't very Spanish, I'll try Arnold Rimmer's favourite gazpacho soup.

Hallelujah. Apparently it is known by Spanish folks as a salad, but others tend to call it a soup probably because of the sloppiness. (Speaking of sloppy, you'd think I'd be able to come up with a better term, considering.)
Gazpacho, which is a blend made with chopped tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, peppers and herbs is served cold and could very well be mistaken for a salad, I guess.
Cold Earl Grey gmack? Nah, if it ain't hot, it ain't worth it, huh?

Definitely hot and certainly not in pill form, thanks.

I'll make a note...
