Can someone please give me one of the many, many formulae that give the exact value of pi, without using inverse trig functions?

    Question #56117. Asked by ogicu8abruok. (Mar 22 05 5:52 PM)

Are you aware that the value of pi is irrational (transcendental) and therefore a little, just a tad, infinite?

Pi is an irrational number -- it can't be expressed as a ratio of two whole numbers, or as a decimal with a repeating pattern of digits. It's a universal constant, and we'll never know its true EXACT value.

But, if you want a formula that may help you get those 6.4 billion numbers after the decimal point, here you are:

Here's a site that'll give you a bunch more formulas as well.

So what is the most rapidly convergent formula for pi? It is what Oggie would need to calculate any more than the million places already given. Yhat and a powerful computer.
