How many different characters usually appear on the Simpsons' lawn in the cartoon's opening sequence?

Bart skateboards across the lawn after skimming over Homer's car, but no-one actually sets foot on the lawn. Lisa cycles up the drive and turns onto the path without touching the lawn.

So where exactly are all that crowd of characters that the scene pans past before it gets to the drive/garage sequence? It looks like they're on the lawn to me.

Yo thanks Peasy-dude! So it is a pan across all of Springfield not the family's lawn. Quite a lot goes on in that half-second doesn't it?

So you agree then, that only Bart is 'on the lawn'?

If it gives you closure OK, I'll admit it may be true(?).
