I was watching "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (A biography of Jesus Christ) and it said that Jeses wouldn't play foot hockey with the other little boys. Why was this?

Was it on a Sunday? If it was, the Bible tells us that God rested on the 7th day on creation. Some Christians therefore do not play games and work.

Sunday actually isn't the seventh day.
Jesus grew up in Israel. When he was a little boy no one worshipped on Sunday. Jews rest on the Sabbath, which is Saturday. Christians worship on Sunday because the resurrection was on a Sunday.
I haven't seen the show, and can't think of a reason straight off why he wouldn't play with the other kids. If there's a reference they're using to support it, I haven't heard it used that way before.
