I guess technically that would be right since he didn't father Martha's children.
I don't see anything saying he adopted them, only that he raised John and Martha, and then went on to raise his grandson when John was killed.

No, Arp, you're thinking of that other wholly different bit of presidential trivia: Presidents who had children who really weren't their children but they had to treat them as their children because technically they were their children.
