    What year did the United States of America come together as a country?

    		Delegates from all 13 original states came together to sign the Declaration of Independence, refering to their colonies as "the United States of America". So it took a few years for them to get around to actually setting up the union and the constitution, but the states all fought for freedom together as one nation.
