Devonport is on the east side of New Zealand's North Island which has a reputation for spectacularly beautiful scenery. I'm not familiar with the song. Could it possibly refer to Devonport, Tasmania? Also a very scenic island. Apr 04 05, 5:43 PM

devonport is across Auckland harbour on the north shore. There is a naval base there and ferries run across to the city a bit like manly ferries or to manhattan island. always a good trip Apr 05 05, 2:17 AM
