What frequencys are the four tones generated for testing audio when T.V. stations are off air but still broadcasting split field color bars or in the old days the test pattern/indian head?

I do remember the annoying tones. They are called sine wave codes. It's no longer known as the Emergency Broadcast System, it's now called The Emergency Alert System. You can hear it on the site below.

This has been a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. Had this been an actual emergency, you would have been alerted about where to turn for further information. This concludes this test of the Emergency Broadcast System.

On Februrary 17, 2009 all U.S. full-power television stations must begin broadcasting in digital format. Have any other countries done, or are planning to do the same?

A certain color is supposedly shunned by members of a specific profession, because a famed, 17th-century practitioner is said to have collapsed publicly while wearing it and died several hours later. It is also said that this color is considered to be unlucky in the field owing to certain associations in medieval examples of this form of work. What is the color, and who was that 17th-century figure?
