    		Yay, Maggie! Also known as Madame Pierre Gautreau, Virginie was painted by Sargent in Paris in 1883/4. The unusual, low-cut, black gown she wore ignited an artistic and social scandal. Today, the painting is one of the treasures of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. An unfinished version is in the Tate.
