    Will Spyware and Adware show up on the Task Manager if it is running?

    		Sorry, somehow I didn't finish that comment. They will show up in the Task Manager under Processes if they are running. Problem is identifying the files. They look similar to ordinary programs you'd find on your computer.

    		Simple answer: If you do a Control-Alt-Delete and make a list if whatever is shown, and then Google them, you will find out what they are, and how to remove them if necessary. Some things are fairly obvious, others you have to be careful with. Any problems, mail me. And if you have SpyBot Search & Destroy, Lavasoft AdAware, BHO Demon and WinPatrol (all free), you shouldn't have to worry too much - so long as you keep updating them.
