Which food brand has a name that is, a bit like their products, the same when printed upside down or back to front? How is this product closely connected to a horse that won a prestigious race and a well-known piece of laboratory apparatus?

    Question #56743. Asked by gmackematix.

The question makes more sense if the word "printed" is removed. And that unnecessary comma.

Guess the food must be OXO, but in the dark about the rest of the question.

And there was me thinking you'd get the lab apparatus first! So far so good, Peasy.

Come on. The history of "Oxo" should quickly lead you to a bit of apparatus commonly found in chemistry labs.

It looks like nobody is going to get this last part.

The beef concentrate that was later made into Oxo cubes was invented by Justus Liebig. The Liebig Meat Company made the first Oxo cubes in 1910.
Justus Liebig also devised many principles regarding the lay-out of chemisry labs that are still used today. He is best known, however, for inventing a distillation device called the Liebig condenser.

Incidentally, Oxo is also the name of the earliest known running graphic computer game (1952).
